The Porsche 911 RS 3.0 IROC Riverside was a special, lightweight 1973 model built for the inaugural International Race of Champions (IROC) series, which began at the Riverside International Raceway. It was based on the Carrera RS and featured a 3.0-liter flat-six engine, aerodynamic fiberglass body parts including a "whale tail" spoiler, wider arches, and a stripped-out interior with a roll cage. These identical cars were driven by top motorsport drivers in a one-make series to test driver skill rather than car technology.
