This very special Porsche 911 was born in 1973, with the ambition of being entered in the European GT Championship. The goal was to beat rival Ferrari, which, with its 365 GTB Daytona, had an engine twice as large as that of the German. The basis of the car was the 911 S, which had already proven itself in rallies. Weight was reduced to a minimum at 840 kilos, and the displacement increased from 2.4 liters to 2.7 liters. In 1973, modifications were made and the displacement was increased to 2.8 liters. Power then reached 308 horsepower for a top speed of 280 km/h. These characteristics definitively made this model a Porsche legend.
